Reduce resource use
Our designs seek to enable circularity by increasing the share of recycled and bio-based materials in our products. The Thermomix® TM7, for example, contains around 30% recycled materials by weight while reducing waste and improving efficiency across production, packaging, and logistics. The goal: to offer the same premium experience with a measurably reduced environmental footprint.
Choosing sustainable materials by design
Reducing our environmental footprint starts with the materials we choose. Across our product portfolio, we increasingly use recycled and bio-based materials without compromising the quality and durability our products are known for.
In the Thermomix® TM7, nearly one third of the device by weight is made from recycled materials across metal and plastic components. Its lid uses PA11, a plastic derived from castor bean oil, a renewable plant-based source, while the lower housing shell contains 70% recycled post-consumer ABS. The Kobold VK7 system follows the same principle. Its handle and structural elements use polypropylene reinforced with 30% recycled carbon fiber, while the RB7 robot vacuum base contains ABS with 95% post-industrial recycled content. The SP7 motor plate is made from leftover material from TM6 bowl handle production, and VK7 replacement filter bags contain at least 80% post-industrial recycled material.
This approach also extends to packaging. TM7 packaging is fully recyclable and includes high levels of recycled content, while VK7 packaging contains at least 60% recycled material overall, with most paper-based components FSC®-certified. By integrating recycled, bio-based, and reclaimed materials into our products and packaging, we reduce the need for virgin raw materials while delivering the premium experience customers expect.
