So That Our World Remains Our Home
Vorwerk has been shaping people's homes for 140 years. We create quality of life with our products and want future generations, too, to feel at home in our world. That’s why we are committed to ensuring that all of our business units work sustainably and responsibly.
We take responsibility and are aware that in our role as an international company, we can afford to make a major contribution: economically, ecologically and socially. Because in the future, we want to live in a home that is in tune with both people and nature.

The Vorwerk Group supports the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s biggest and most important initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate management. By signing up to the UNGC, we undertake to abide by ten universal sustainability principles concerned with human rights and labor standards, environmental and climate protection, and fighting corruption, and also to promote the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs. Working alongside over 16,000 other companies across industries and national borders, we aim to move step by step closer to a sustainable and more inclusive economy. Every year, we publish our Communication on Progress, in which we report on our achievements and current efforts on the sustainability front.
Our Strategy
We want to continuously improve the effects of our business activities on society and the environment and so to make a positive contribution to sustainable development. To this end, we have included sustainability as an integral part of our corporate strategy and defined four focus areas, for which we set ourselves specific targets and regularly monitor our progress:

Responsibility in the supply chain
We believe our responsibility does not end at the factory gates. We want to ensure that all of the people directly or indirectly connected with our business activities receive fair and decent treatment. In order to fulfill our human rights obligations, we have established a comprehensive system of risk management that enables us to identify and remedy any grievances at an early stage.

Climate and environmental protection
Ambitious climate protection and the consistent decarbonization of our business activities form the basis of our sustainability strategy. We have been balancing our own CO₂ emissions since 2016 and are working hard to keep on reducing them – and successfully. We are gradually expanding these efforts to our value chain with the intention of achieving climate neutrality by 2045.

Sustainable products and circular economy
We are well on the way to making our products sustainable at every stage of their value chain. This includes lower energy consumption during production and the subsequent use phase, the use of recycled and recyclable materials, and technology and craftsmanship designed to last.
