Over 140 years of Vorwerk – shaping the future together

Founded by Carl Vorwerk in 1883 as a small carpet weaving mill, Vorwerk quickly grew, expanding its portfolio and ambitions. In 1929, under the leadership of August Mittelsten Scheid, we produced our first Kobold vacuum cleaners. A year later, we took a bold step that would define us for decades: the launch of direct selling. In 1971, our hero product Thermomix® was introduced, and today, both Kobold/Folletto and Thermomix®/Bimby® remain at the core of our business. These milestones – innovating direct selling and the development of our hero products - continue to shape our identity as a direct selling company and innovation leader, guided by the vision and commitment of our founding family. 

We are defined by unity, loyalty, and mutual support. These values are alive every day in direct, human connections, in our open culture, and in the spirit of collaboration across generations.
